Weekend Eco-RetreatS
Based in scenic, rural Eastern Oregon, our sustainability intensives provide a structured but relaxing antidote to your daily grind. These 3-day, 2-night retreats show instead of tell about the bliss of living ever-more sustainably. It's not uncommon for participants to reduce their adverse environmental impact by 50% - 90% within two years of participation... and they report having a lot of fun along the way.
Each small-scale group is limited to 6 participants per cohort, & all participants must be 18 years or older.
Activities include:
-
private cooking classes with personal chef
-
community outings to farmer's market, bakery, consignment shops, etc
-
unplugged game night
-
access to free store (leave treasures, take treasures)
-
private, guided body movement sessions (in-house)
-
personalized sustainability workshops (PAC Heroes 101)
-
keynote speakers/ guest presenters
Course Goals:
-
to help you identify the (unsustainable) pressure points in your own life and to teach you how to relieve that pressure
-
to sidestep the political/environmental debate and jump straight to action
-
to train you how to be a natural leader in your community

SAMPLE ITINERARY

![]() Eco Retreat HeadquartersIt's a (dangerous) misconception that we need to "retreat" to the woods in order to become better members of our ecosystem. Our Eco-Retreats are headquartered in the heart of La Grande from this facility, originally constructed in 1910. | ![]() Community Dinner PartyPhoto from a community dinner Circle Game host in the same space as the Eco-Retreats. Lots of good food, lots of good conversation, and NOT lots of trash. Hooray! | ![]() Eco-Retreat Bedroom SuiteHere's an example of one of our three suites. The bedding and pillows are for demonstration and may be different than pictured. | ![]() Eco Retreat Foyer & StairwellWhen local folks first hear the location of Circle Game's headquarters, they often use these ascending windows as the identifying architectural feature. ("That's the place with the cool window stairs, right?") |

![]() Eco-Retreat Snack NookThis is one corner of the large gathering room where we meet for morning stretching, group workshops, and yes, sometimes even tea and biscuits. | ![]() Sample ItineraryWe run a fairly tight ship over here at Circle Game, which is to say that every hour between 4pm Friday and 1pm Sunday is accounted for. Of course, downtime/ rest time/ shower time are all included in that "strict" schedule. The bottom line: our Eco-Retreats take some effort, yes, but they're also the most fun residential conference you'll ever attend. |
